Ramadan 1448 is expected to begin on or around 8 February 2027 in the UAE, subject to the moon sighting committee. Ajman follows Dubai's timings almost exactly, so whatever your app says for Dubai is within a minute or two of correct here.
What follows is not a list of hotel buffets. It is what to actually order, when to order it, and the one mistake almost everybody makes at the table.
The mistake: ordering iftar like it is dinner
After fourteen hours without food your stomach is not ready for a full mutton karahi, and eating one immediately is why people feel unwell an hour later and sleep badly before suhoor.
Break the fast light, then eat properly fifteen or twenty minutes later. Dates and water first. Then something cold and gentle: a sweet or salty lassi at AED 5, or a soft drink at AED 3. A samosa at AED 2 or a shami kabab at AED 2 is enough to take the edge off.
Then the real meal. Ordering in two stages like this also solves the practical problem, because the second half can be collected or delivered while you are praying rather than going cold on the table.
What to order for iftar
| Order | AED | Why it works after a fast |
|---|---|---|
| Lassi, sweet or salty | 5 | Cold, hydrating, gentle on an empty stomach |
| Samosa | 2 | Small, hot, something to eat with the dates |
| Samosa chat, small | 5 | Channa, dahi and imli. Sharp enough to wake up the appetite |
| Chicken biryani, small | 10 | One plate, no sharing, no decisions |
| Half Zafran chicken karahi | 15 | Feeds two with roti at AED 1 each |
| Chicken white handi | 26 | No chilli heat, which matters more than usual after fasting |
| Full chargha | 35 | Feeds three. The order for a family table |
| Matka falooda | 10 | Cold, sweet, and the correct way to finish |
For a family of four, a full mutton Shinwari karahi at AED 64 with six roti comes to AED 70 and genuinely feeds four. For two people, a half karahi at AED 15 with four roti is AED 19.
What to order for suhoor
Suhoor is a different problem. You are not eating because you are hungry, you are eating so that you are not suffering at two in the afternoon. That rules out most of what is good at iftar.
What helps: slow food with fat and protein in it. Mutton paya at AED 10 is the classic for exactly this reason, and beef nihari at AED 10 does the same job. Eat either with a sada paratha at AED 1 or a desi paratha at AED 2. A daal of the day at AED 5 with a roti is the cheap version and works nearly as well.
What does not help: anything heavily salted or deep fried, which leaves you thirsty by mid morning. Go easy on the BBQ at suhoor however good it is. And take a lassi at AED 5 rather than a soft drink, because the sugar crash is real.
The kitchen runs until midnight, so a late suhoor order needs to be placed before then. Tell us when you want it and we will tell you honestly whether we can do it.
Ordering during Ramadan, practically
The hour before maghrib is the busiest hour of our year. Every restaurant in the Sanaiya is cooking for the same forty minute window, and no kitchen can compress a mutton karahi into ten minutes because the evening demands it.
- Order ninety minutes ahead if you want food on the table at the right moment.
- Order earlier still for anything off the charcoal, because BBQ goes on the coals after you order it and takes fifteen to twenty minutes before it even leaves.
- Say what time you want it, not just what you want. A delivery time is far more useful to us than "as soon as possible", because everybody says that.
- Biryani, pulao, handi and daal travel best. Charcoal BBQ is at its best within a couple of minutes of coming off the skewer, which is a real argument for collecting it rather than having it delivered.
We deliver across New Sanaiya, Al Nuaimiya, Al Rawda, Al Jurf and the rest of Ajman. Orders are direct, on WhatsApp and by phone only, so the Ramadan price is the ordinary price.
If you are fasting and working in the Sanaiya
The monthly mess runs through Ramadan from AED 200 a month for one meal a day. For anybody working a shift and fasting, having suhoor and iftar already arranged for the month removes the one decision you least want to make at four in the morning. Ask at the counter about how the timings shift.

Common questions
- When does Ramadan 2027 start in the UAE?
- Ramadan 1448 is expected to begin on or around 8 February 2027 in the United Arab Emirates, subject to confirmation by the UAE moon sighting committee. Ajman follows Dubai's iftar and suhoor timings almost exactly, within a minute or two.
- Where can I get iftar delivered in Ajman?
- Zafran Kitchen on Amman Street in Ajman Industrial Area 2 delivers across New Sanaiya, Industrial Area 1 and 2, Al Nuaimiya, Al Rawda, Al Jurf, Al Rashidiya, Mushairef, Al Bustan, Al Nakhil and Emirates City. Order on WhatsApp at 050 720 8707 and order early, because the hour before maghrib is the busiest hour of the year.
- What should I break my fast with?
- Something light first. Dates and water, then a lassi at AED 5 or a soft drink at AED 3 before anything heavy. Going straight into a full karahi after a long fast is the most common mistake people make. Eat the main dish fifteen or twenty minutes later.
- What is best for suhoor?
- Food that releases slowly and does not leave you thirsty. Mutton paya at AED 10 or beef nihari at AED 10 with paratha, or a daal at AED 5 with roti. Avoid anything heavily salted or deep fried before a long day, and take a lassi rather than a soft drink.
- How early should I order iftar in Ajman?
- Order at least ninety minutes before maghrib if you want it on the table at the right moment, and earlier if you are ordering charcoal BBQ or a mutton karahi, both of which are cooked after you order. During Ramadan the whole city orders in the same forty minute window.
